Breeze Airways Enters The National Air Carrier Association
Breeze Airways, the fledgling low-cost airline that started operations last year under the guidance of JetBlue founder David Neeleman, has accepted an offer to become a member of the National Air Carrier Association (NACA).
In a statement, NACA President and CEO George Novak stated, “We are thrilled to welcome Breeze as a full member of the association.” With 77 flights connecting 28 cities in 18 states, David Neeleman and his colleagues provide the traveling public a cheap and environmentally responsible alternative to traditional airlines.
The addition of Breeze to our team means that we can now speak with a more united voice in Washington, D.C., on behalf of the nation’s low- and ultra-low-cost airlines, which represent the fastest expanding part of the United States airline business. Our continuing expansion indicates the effectiveness of our lobbying efforts on behalf of our members and other constituents.
NACA, which was established in 1962, is the primary trade association representing smaller, more affordable airlines that carry both people and cargo. Breeze Airways will become the organization’s 20th airline member based in the United States.
On advocacy concerns, the National Aviation Council of America collaborates with the Department of Transportation, the Federal Aviation Administration, and the Transportation Security Administration. The CEO of Breeze, Neeleman, said that the
The National Air Carrier Association provides its airline members with a valuable opportunity to engage in discussions about consumer, economic, safety, and security regulations with members of Congress as well as staff from the Department of Transportation, the Federal Aviation Administration, and the Transportation Security Administration. “We look forward to working with the National Air Transportation Association to solve critical challenges confronting the aviation sector.”
Allegiant Air, Avelo Airlines, Breeze, Frontier Airlines, Spirit Airlines, and Sun Country Airlines are among the low-cost and ultra-low-cost airline members of the National Association of Carriers.
