Venice Mayor Wants To Issue The Certificate Of Stupidity

After several visitors in Venice decided to leap over a building into a canal, the mayor of Venice has proposed the idea of awarding the tourists with a “certificate of stupidity.
After a tourist in Venice leaped from a building that was three stories tall into a canal, the mayor of Venice has said that he intends to give the visitor with a “certificate of stupidity” and “a lot of kicks.”

On Twitter, Luigi Brugnaro posted a video of the confrontation, in which he referred to the offender as a “idiot.”

“We are trying to identify him so that we can file a complaint against him and his friend below who created the stupid video for social media,”

The video shows the guy doing a belly flop into the canal, after which he emerges from the water presumably uninjured and is then given a towel by a buddy.
The individual was referred to by Mr. Brugnaro as both a “tourist” and a “delinquent.”

He remarked, “He put his life in danger by jumping off that building, but he is also a criminal.”They are unaware of the threat that they pose to the residents of this metropolis. What if a boat had been traveling under us at the time?

Mr. Brugnaro was quoted as saying, “They do these stupid things on social media for the likes,” and he went on to say, “we will use the law to prosecute him.”

This event occurred a little over six months after two visitors from Australia were caught on camera surfing down the Grand Canal.

Mr. Brugnaro started a search for the surfers at the time, accusing them of creating “a mockery of the city,” and he offered supper to anybody who could assist in locating them.

The couple was ultimately located, identified, and fined €1,500 (£1,320) apiece in addition to having their surfboards taken away. They were called “overbearing idiots” by Venice’s outspoken mayor, who also called them that.

Mr. Brugnaro said that his agency desperately needed more powers in order to maintain the public’s safety.

The city in Italy has been struggling for a long time under the burden of excessive tourism and the lack of decorum that it brings with it.

In 2019, a tourist headbutted a gondolier over a selfie, and a couple of backpackers were fined for preparing coffee close to the Rialto Bridge with a camping stove. Both of these incidents occurred in Venice.

Mr. Brugnaro was quoted as saying, “Venice must be respected, and those obnoxious people who think they can come to the city and do whatever they want must understand that, thanks to the girls and boys of the local police, they will be taken, sanctioned, and removed.” “Venice must be respected,” stated Mr.

“Our city will always be open and welcoming to all those who want to come and visit it, but at the same time, we will be intransigent with those who think they can come and do whatever they want.”
