2 Years After Suspension Delta Will Restart Detroit-Frankfurt Service
Airlines such as Delta Air Lines are preparing to resume flights to a new location after a two-year hiatus. Operations between Detroit and Frankfurt will resume on April 12th, according to the United States Air Lines. After starting with five flights per week, the airline plans to boost the frequency to daily service between the two cities starting in May.

Because to the COVID-19 outbreak, Delta Air Lines was forced to cease operations between Detroit and Frankfurt. As a result, the airline will resume service between the two cities on April 12th, after a 25-month hiatus. The airline will use its Airbus A330-200 aircraft, which has a seating capacity of 223 people.
According to Aviacionline, Delta will initially fly five times a week, giving about 900 tickets per week on each leg of the route in the beginning. Once daily flights will be available starting on May 2nd, thanks to an increase in frequency by the airline.
Delta will run the section in accordance with the following timetable:

On Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday, take the DL87 from Frankfurt (FRA) to Detroit (DTW) at 10:40 a.m.
Detroit is already connected to three European cities, including London, Amsterdam, and Paris, thanks to the airline. The city’s fourth transatlantic line will begin in Frankfurt this year.
Delta is increasing the number of flights to Europe.
Delta Air Lines announced its intentions to expand its service to Europe this summer around two weeks ago, revealing a number of flights the airline intends to run to the continent. Detroit and Minneapolis will be the primary gateways for Delta’s nonstop flights to the airline’s global hubs in Amsterdam, London, and Paris. Daily flights will also be offered to Frankfurt, Munich, and Reykjavik from their respective Midwest hubs.
With more than 510 weekly flights to Europe, the carrier will have the most flights of any other airline out of New York JFK and Boston. As a result of Delta’s Delta Premium Select cabin being available on practically all of these flights, travelers will have access to 750,000 more seats in the airline’s three premium experiences by summer 2021 compared to the previous year. The airline says it has been working hard to restore its network to provide customers with quick, accessible access to anywhere they want to travel. This summer, Delta will provide up to 74 daily flights to 21 European destinations from 10 U.S. gateways, demonstrating its commitment to that goal.

The Detroit-to-Frankfurt route is only one of the numerous connections offered by Delta during the summer months. With up to 27 departures per day from JFK to 20 European destinations, the airline will provide new flights to Zurich as well as pre-COVID service to Zurich and Brussels, Edinburgh, Copenhagen, and Prague, and pre-COVID service to Zurich and Brussels.
ATL-Rome will also have the capability of flying up to 17 times a day to 14 transatlantic destinations, including three times a day service to Amsterdam, twice daily service to London, and three times daily service to Rome.
To link its Seattle base with Amsterdam twice a day and once a day with London and Paris, the airline will launch service to both cities on the West Coast in early 2019. Portland will also benefit from a daily flight to Amsterdam.
