Sri Lanka Signs Tourist Deal With Emirates

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been signed between Emirates and the Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau at the Emirates Group headquarters in Dubai. A commitment to Sri Lanka is reiterated in the agreement, which also details mutually beneficial efforts that will aid in the revival of the local tourist sector.

Mohammed Ahmed Khoory, Emirates senior vice president for commercial West Asia and the Indian Ocean, and Kimarli Fernando, head of the Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau, inked the agreement.

“Sri Lanka continues to be a very important market in Emirates’ worldwide network, and the deal struck today demonstrates our steadfast commitment to the nation,” Khoory added. Our activities in Colombo began more than three decades ago, and our cooperation has continued to expand from strength to strength.

“We look forward to exploring mutually beneficial ideas that will assist in the revival of the nation’s commerce and tourist sectors, as well as providing Emirates with a chance to satisfy the market need,” the statement said.

Aside from combined activities that will serve to improve trade and tourism, the agreement provides for joint activities that will benefit both the UAE and Sri Lanka Tourism. These will include trade fairs, trade familiarization visits, exhibits, workshops, and other events.

“Sri Lanka is a lovely island destination with recognized strategic partners such as Emirates, and this is an important feature to lead Sri Lanka’s travel and tourist economy,” Fernando said.

This collaboration will allow us to investigate and capitalize on new possibilities as they arise, while also opening up numerous lovely channels for the establishment of brand recognition and perceived quality in the worldwide tourist industry,” says the company.

“As a result, we are delighted about this cooperation and appreciative for all of the assistance Emirates has provided us over the course of our three-decade-long relationship, particularly during the epidemic.”

“We are optimistic that by working together, we will be able to successfully promote and service the market.”
