Oceania’s 2024 Around The World In 180 Days Sells Out In 30 Minutes
When the ‘2024 Around the World in 180 Days’ journey onboard Insignia went on sale on March 2nd, it sold out in less than 30 minutes, according to Oceania Cruises, the world’s largest gourmet and destination oriented cruise company.
In connection with the world cruise, the firm announced the debut of four new 72- to 82-day Grand Voyages in the Asia-Pacific area on the ships Regatta, Nautica, and Riviera, which would depart from Singapore. The complete sell-out of the six-month world cruise, as well as the overwhelmingly positive reaction to the four Asia-Pacific cruises, led in a new single-day booking record that beats the previous record established in September 2021 by about 12 percent.
According to Howard Sherman, President and CEO of Oceania Cruises, “The reaction to our 2024 world cruise and the new big adventures demonstrates the resilience, energy, and passion that motivate our passengers to traverse the globe.”
‘The intense desire for these globetrotting adventures is also a monument to the dedication of our officers and crew, as well as the travel partners, who have tirelessly advocated for the global return to travel,’ he said.
The Oceania Cruises 2024 world cruise saw over half of all reservations come from first-time, new-to-brand passengers, while 42 percent of the guests embarking on the company’s current 2022 Around the World journey rebooked for the company’s 2024 voyage. This continues a booking trend that the brand has seen slowly emerge over the previous year, with certain booking periods and campaigns seeing new-to-brand booking levels of more than 50% in some instances.
Additionally, 18 percent of 2024 world cruise participants chose to prolong their vacation by an additional 196 days, bringing the total length of their voyage to 196 days.
Our acclaimed small-ship experience, which includes The Finest Cuisine at Sea and an unmatched reputation for service from our warm and welcoming staff, continues to demonstrate the epic pent-up demand for immersive, destination-focused cruises, as well as the strong allure of our acclaimed small-ship experience.
The company has also seen unprecedented interest for its 2023 Europe and North America collection of voyages, with reservations for lengthier, grand trips that span several weeks or months increasing in number as the line’s reputation for excellence grows. On May 4th, the line will begin accepting reservations for a full year of trips extending from October 2023 to December 2024, in order to meet the demand of customers and travel advisers who are booking farther in advance.
Also mentioned was the historically robust reaction from travel advisers, who delivered the vast bulk of the reservations in the first place.
According to Nikki F. Upshaw, Senior Vice President of Sales, “the great majority of reservations were made via our trusted travel partners, and this launch would not have achieved its record-breaking success without the cooperation of travel advisers throughout the world.”
