All COVID-19 limitations for domestic visitors are lifted in Puerto Rico.
The official tourist agency of the U.S. territory of Puerto Rico, Discover Puerto Rico, said on Thursday that visitors visiting the island from inside the United States would no longer be required to provide evidence of vaccination or a positive COVID-19 test in order to enter or enjoy the island.
This announcement comes on the heels of a series of eased regulations announced last month, including the elimination of the necessity for vaccinated passengers to undergo arrival testing on domestic flights and the elimination of the seven-day quarantine for unvaccinated tourists.
With effect from March 10, all domestic passengers, whether they are unvaccinated or vaccinated, will be treated the same.
The amended instructions, which were announced by the tourist group, would apply to all visitors, regardless of whether or not they have had vaccinations. International travelers, on the other hand, are still required to comply with the requirements of the United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, which include providing proof of a negative PCR or antigen test performed within one day of departure for the United States, as well as vaccination documentation.
Foreign travelers visiting the United States are deemed completely vaccinated 14 days after receiving their last dose of a COVID-19 vaccine that has been approved by the United States Food and Drug Administration or the World Health Organization. At current moment, there is no need for a booster to enter Puerto Rico.
In addition to the current indoor and outdoor mask regulation, previous standards mandating companies to restrict attendance and demand vaccinations for access have been repealed.
As reported by Discover Puerto Rico, individual firms may decide whether to apply their own health and safety policies, with the caveat that “masks are nevertheless suggested for circumstances when vaccination status cannot be ensured.”
Finally, travellers traveling in Puerto Rico after March 10 will no longer be needed to complete the Travel Declaration Form, which was previously required. Travel rules for Puerto Rico may be found on the Discover Puerto Rico website, which also provides further information.
