During our stay at The Capital Melrose’s one-bedroom apartment hotel, we were impressed by the modern urban décor and superlative comfort, which made us feel like we were in our own home.

The facility, which is located on the outskirts of the City of Gold and close to commercial areas, entertainment places, and the Johannesburg M1, has a variety of 109 rooms, studios, and apartments for both business and leisure travelers to choose from.

Flats with one, two, or three bedrooms, as well as studio apartments, are available to travelers. The completely furnished flats have a fully equipped kitchen with contemporary finishes – including everything from dining utensils to a washing machine – as well as a modern sitting room with a hint of black, grey, and emerald green décor.

Walking inside the bedroom, you can’t help but note the incredible illumination provided by the glass walls and sliding door leading to the corner balcony, although the view outside is limited to neighboring apartment buildings and an empty plot of land next to the building where you are staying.

As well as providing enough natural light, the bedroom also has a king-sized bed, flat-screen TV, spacious closet for two, a room safe, and a stunning en suite bathroom with a separate shower.

The bathroom is equipped with a bathtub, which has been installed at an unsafely low level, making it potentially harmful for children. It also has a shower, a toilet, and a basin with a mirror on each side that has LED lighting on either side. The small windows in the dimly lit bathroom make it a good place to do your make-up quickly.

Capital Hotels and Apartments claim that their newest property, The Capital Melrose, is the first in their portfolio to provide a selection of ground-floor gardens – perfect for families looking to get away from it all in the heart of Melbourne’s CBD.

A gym, a swimming pool, a bar, and a dining room where visitors may have a buffet breakfast, lunch from the menu, and supper are available to them as part of their stay.

With the relaxation of Covid-19 rules, tourists are increasingly searching for longer stays. Although only a tiny proportion of the market provides for them, aparthotels are on the increase in South Africa.

According to Marc Wachsberger, the CEO of the Capital Hotels & Apartments group, the organization has seen an increase in the demand for prolonged stays among business travelers.

After realizing that most travelers did not desire the restricted space provided by a traditional hotel room, aparthotels became the solution.

The new niche accommodation model has found a place in society even after the collapse of the Soviet Union because people can now choose where they want to work and “they don’t want to be in a cramped hotel room; they want an apartment,” according to Wachsberger in an article published by the Financial Mail.

In the company of the Capital Hotels & Apartments Group, Phumi Ramalepe was a guest of honor.
