Jamaica’s Minister of Tourist industry has expressed his delight at the record number of British tourists that visited the island during the month of February. He made the remark, which was seen by Minister of Culture, Gender Equality Entertainment and Sport, Honorable Olivia Grange, during the beginning of the 60th anniversary celebrations, which took place under the theme ‘Reigniting a Nation for Greatness’.

It is encouraging to see such a large influx of British people visiting Jamaica, since it indicates that the destination is well on its path to recovery.” The promise of a secure, smooth, and genuine experience in Jamaica is also conveyed by this statement.

Normally, we have roughly 15,000 British tourists each month, and this growth is a great indication that we are accomplishing our goals, which is to recover fully,” Minister Bartlett said.

A press conference was held at White City Studio in London on Monday, during which Minister Bartlett announced the news to an audience of 200 business executives and members of the media (April 25). The evening included a flurry of performances by musicians such as saxophonist Lascelles James, poet David Neita, Carroll Thompson, the queen of lovers rock, and reggae performer Bitty McLean.

The nation is on pace to welcome 200,000 British tourists by the end of the year and a total of 3.2 million visitors in total. Minister Bartlett urged Jamaicans living abroad to return to the island in order to rediscover their roots and take advantage of the unparalleled experiences available on the island.
