This year, Radisson Hotel Group has signed five new hotel agreements throughout the continent, bringing the total number of rooms in its African portfolio to over 600. The company’s ambitious African expansion and development strategy is continuing apace. With the addition of more than a dozen properties by 2022, the Group expects to have just over 100 hotels in operation or under construction across the continent by then.
In 2021, Radisson Hotel Group will establish a new record by signing 14 new hotels in countries such as Morocco, Djibouti, Ghana, and Zambia, bringing the total number of rooms in its African portfolio to over 2,500. The Group’s rapid expansion is in line with its goal of reaching over 150 properties throughout Africa by 2025, an increase from its current total of around 100 properties.
Across the continent, from Ethiopia and Senegal to Tunisia and Ghana, the five new hotel signings in Q1 2022 represent a cross-section of the Group’s brand portfolio, from the fast-growing upscale Radisson brand to the Group’s newest conversion brand, Radisson Individuals, and span the Group’s five brands.
The Radisson Hotel Addis Ababa is a luxury hotel in the capital of Ethiopia. Ethiopia’s Bole International Airport The Radisson Hotel Addis Ababa Bole Airport, which is now under development, is scheduled to open its doors in summer 2023. It will be the first Radisson branded hotel in East Africa and will be the first Radisson hotel in Ethiopia.
The hotel is located 1.8 kilometers from Bole International Airport, which is the third busiest airport hub in Africa and is home to Ethiopian Airlines, the continent’s largest airline, as well as the recently upgraded terminal. It is also adjacent to the country’s new national stadium, which is still under construction.
Radisson Resort Dakar is a luxury hotel in Dakar, Senegal. Saly is a town in Senegal. After opening its doors in 2024, the hotel will be situated in Saly, a prominent beach resort in Senegal and the Sub-Saharan area. It will be the first Radisson resort in Africa and the second Radisson branded property in Senegal when it opens its doors.
In addition to being the second most popular tourist destination in the country after Dakar, Saly offers a diverse variety of recreational opportunities. A brand-new motorway connects the resort to the Blaise Diagne International Airport in Dakar, the city core of the capital, and the village of Diamniadio, allowing for quick and simple access to all of these destinations.
The Radisson Hotel Sfax is located in Tunisia. From Junior to Presidential levels, the hotel will feature standard rooms and suites in a variety of styles. It will be the first and only internationally branded upscale hotel in the city and will cater to the needs of government officials, corporate executives, and MICE visitors from around the world.
The Radisson Hotel Sfax, Tunisia, which is scheduled to open in the second quarter of 2022, will be situated in the city center, near to the Port of Sfax, which is the country’s most significant trading port, and a 20-minute drive from Sfax-Thyna International Airport, which services the whole area.
La Maison Blanche Tunis, a member of Radisson Individuals, is a luxury boutique hotel. This existing, independent hotel in Tunis will undergo a complete restoration before reopening its doors in January 2023, according to the hotel’s website. It will be the third hotel in Tunisia for the Maison Blanche Group, which already has two hotels in operation and three more under construction, for a total of around 1,000 rooms.
Aside from being the economic and commercial capital of Tunisia, it also serves as the headquarters of a slew of multinational corporations and organizations, and it has a rich cultural legacy and scenic surroundings. Located 5 kilometers from Tunis-Carthage International Airport and 800 meters from Tunis Train Station, the hotel offers a convenient location.
The Number One Oxford Street Hotel & Suites, a member of Radisson Individuals in Accra, Ghana, is a part of the Radisson Group. Various rooms and suites, including a three-bedroom penthouse and a premium presidential suite, will be available at the facility, which is planned to open in Q2. Serviced apartments, which have a separate living area, balcony, and fully equipped kitchen, will also be available.
The Radisson Individuals Accra is the Group’s third property in the city and the first of two Radisson Individuals hotels to open in Ghana, laying the groundwork for the brand’s future growth in the nation. The hotel will be located in the Osu suburb, which would put it in close proximity to Accra’s financial business sector as well as government ministries.
