Qatar Tourism commemorates Eid with the biggest balloon festival in the Middle East, which takes place in the city of Doha. In Doha, Qatar, balloons depicting famous Qatari elements such as a falcon, a whale shark, and a Qatar Airways airliner drifted across the Qatari sky.
Qatar is preparing to welcome more than one million guests to the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™, which will take place in the country in 200 days.
Qatar Tourism, already the home of the world’s highest indoor roller coaster, is commemorating Eid al-Fitr with yet another world-first attraction: the biggest balloon festival in the Middle East, which will be the largest in the world.
The three-day festival, which features balloons depicting well-known and much-loved characters such as the Minion, Angry Birds, Mario & Luigi, as well as iconic Qatari features such as a falcon, whale shark, and even a Qatar Airways plane, attracts thousands of spectators who line the Corniche to watch the parade.
“As we prepare to host the FIFA World Cup 2022™ in Qatar in 200 days, our emphasis is on tourism and giving unique experiences to residents, locals, and international visitors,” said Berthold Trenkel, Chief Operating Officer of Qatar Tourism.
