Qatar Airways Reopens Service To Namibia, Windhoek

Qatar Airways will restore service to Namibia’s capital, Windhoek, on June 25, 2022, as part of the airline’s largest-ever African schedule, which will begin on June 25, 2022. It will be possible to fly to Windhoek from more than 200 locations in 31 African countries every week. The new route will link passengers to approximately 150 destinations across the globe, including gateways in Europe such as Germany, France, Spain, the United Kingdom, and India.

The national carrier of the State of Qatar will operate three weekly non-stop flights to and from Windhoek via Hamad International Airport (HIA). The flights will be operated by the state-of-the-art Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner, which will have 22 seats in Business Class and 232 seats in Economy Class, according to the airline.

“This resumption demonstrates the strong ties between Doha and Namibia, with Qatar Airways enjoying an increasingly robust presence across the African continent, supporting economies and the ongoing recovery of the travel industry in the region,” said His Excellency Mr. Akbar Al Baker, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Qatar Airways Group.

“With the reinstatement of flights from Windhoek to Doha, not only will Qatar Airways be better positioned to meet the growing demand for travel in Southern Africa, but it will also enable an even greater number of our valued passengers in Africa to enjoy our signature five-star service on board,” says the airline.
