Qantas Introduce Hundreds Of Point-to-point Trips This Summer

Qantas Frequent Passengers who would want to take a holiday over the summer may choose from more than 225,000 prize tickets to various seaside locations. This is the most number of Points Plane trips that Qantas has ever made accessible to its customers.

This summer, six weeks of flights across 21 itineraries will be converted into points programs. During this time, every seat, including business class, will be available for booking as a traditional travel reward.

Beginning today at 11 a.m. and continuing for the next 72 hours, frequent fliers will have the opportunity to buy reward tickets on any aircraft departing between January 9 and January 22, as well as any flight departing in February 2023, on the following routes:

From Melbourne to Hamilton Island, Merimbula, Townsville, Devonport, and Burnie, and all the way up to the Gold Coast.
From Sydney to Byron Bay, Hamilton Island, Merimbula, and Townsville, as well as the Gold Coast; from Brisbane to the Whitsunday Coast, Hamilton Island, and Townsville; and everywhere in between.
From Adelaide to Townsville, including Kangaroo Island, Mount Gambier, Whyalla, and Port Lincoln, and the Gold Coast; from Perth to Broome; and everything in between.

Olivia Wirth, the CEO of Qantas Loyalty, said that the company’s primary emphasis was on expanding the number of ways in which regular fliers could utilize their points to pay for future vacations.

“This is a record release of points that will let thousands of our frequent passengers utilize their points to book a beachfront vacation this summer,” the spokesperson for the airline said in a statement.

Ms. Wirth stated.
“Whenever we issue new points programs, we notice a big demand from our frequent fliers, and they sometimes sell out before we can have them in stock.” Because these flights are to some of Australia’s top summer locations during peak vacation months, our recommendation is that you make your reservation as soon as you possibly can.

“Despite the fact that strong demand and increasing fuel costs have forced airfares for all airlines to climb from record lows in the previous 18 months, the points necessary to buy these tickets have not changed in years,” the author writes.

“Reward tickets can be purchased on most of these routes for 8,000 points one-way, and a family of four will be able to travel from Sydney to the Gold Coast and back for less than 65,000 points.”

“In addition to these Points Planes, there are more than five million reward seats available for frequent flyers over the course of the next year across the domestic and international flights of Qantas and Jetstar, as well as our network of 45 partner airlines,”

“We also want to maintain encouraging regular fliers to visit the numerous world-class locations right in their own neighborhood, which is wonderful for local companies and tourism in the region,” said the spokesperson. “This is a win-win situation for everyone involved.”

During 118 billion Qantas Points were gained by frequent fliers over the course of the previous fiscal year, with more than two thirds of those points being earned on the ground via the use of credit cards, shopping, and a huge variety of other partners.

Up to December 2, 2022 at 11:59:59 a.m., any seat in either the economy or business class cabins of the designated point flights may be reserved for use as a traditional reward seat. Cash transactions are also accepted for the purchase of seats on certain flights.

For all Qantas Hotels and Qantas Holidays reservations, travelers may now utilize 30–45 percent less points to reserve their accommodations around the coast with Qantas Hotels and Qantas Holidays.

In 2019, Qantas Frequent Flyer offered Points Planes to celebrate the reopening of borders, the launch of new international routes, and a dedicated month of Points Planes on a number of regional routes. The first Points Planes were offered between Melbourne and Tokyo. Since then, Qantas Frequent Flyer has continued to offer Points Planes.
