During the summer months, UAE airline flydubai will expand its network in Italy with the return of its Catania service and the addition of a new route to Pisa. On June 24th, the airline will begin operating thrice-weekly flights between Pisa International Airport (PSA) and Catania International Airport (CTA).
services to Italy are now available with flydubai. This summer, flydubai will expand its Italian network to include three more destinations. The airline will resume service to Catania, Sicily, and will also begin offering a new route to Pisa, one of Italy’s most famous tourist sites, beginning in 2019.
Starting on June 24th, flights to Pisa International Airport (PSA) and Catania International Airport (CTA) will be available for purchase. Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays will be the days when the airline will operate three flights each week.

“We are looking forward to the start of service to our third destination in Italy later this summer. Travelers from the United Arab Emirates and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) will find Pisa to be a popular location for discovering the beauty of the Tuscany area.”
All flights will depart from Dubai International Airport’s Terminal 3 (formerly known as Terminal 2). (DXB). The airline now operates flights to Naples and formerly operated flights to Catania before ceasing operations.
According to Jeyhun Efendi, Senior Vice President, Commercial Operations and E-Commerce of flydubai,
“The addition of flydubai’s new three-times-weekly route to Pisa, as well as our existing services to Catania and Naples, provides customers from the UAE and the region with additional alternatives for travel to Europe throughout the summer travel season. Throughout the year, our customers from Italy will be able to take advantage of our easy and direct flights to Dubai.”
Passengers will be required to keep up to date with rules from the International Air Transport Association (IATA) Travel Centre and the IATA destination tracker throughout the duration of their flight, as well as follow any instructions offered by the authorities and the airline.
The Boeing 737 MAX is responsible for providing service.
The Boeing 737 MAX will be used by flydubai to transport passengers to and from Italy. Business class tickets are available, as are lie-flat chairs and a variety of in-flight entertainment choices, including an 11.6-inch full-HD screen.
The following is the flight schedule between Dubai (DXB) and Pisa (PSA), which operates on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays.
Costs for return business class flights from DXB to PSA start at AED 11,000 ($2,995), while fares for economy class ‘Lite’ flights start at AED 2,500 ($680). Rates for return business class flights from PSA to DXB begin at EUR 2,500 ($2,760), while fares for economy class ‘Lite’ flights begin at EUR 530 ($585).
flydubai is expected to acquire 20 Boeing 737 MAX jets this year, bringing the total number of MAX planes in the company’s fleet to almost quadruple in one year.
Codesharing with Emirates is available.
Emirates, the official airline of the United Arab Emirates, will codeshare with flydubai on its Italy flights, providing access to a plethora of connections via Dubai’s international aviation center.
Obaidalla went on to say,
“As more nations loosen travel restrictions and demand for travel returns to pre-pandemic levels, we have witnessed a solid increase in passenger numbers in recent years. In addition to adding new destinations to our network and increasing the number of flights on certain of our current routes, we are looking forward to an outstanding summer this year.”
In addition, the airline has stated that it would operate certain flights out of Dubai World Central as a result of the anticipated 45-day shutdown of the northern runway at Dubai International Airport.
