Because of the shutdown of Russian airspace in the winter of 2022-2023, Finnair has revised its winter flight schedules. During the winter, Finnair operates flights to 10 Asian destinations, five US locations, and 62 European destinations from its headquarters in Helsinki, Finland. Finnair also operates direct flights from Stockholm Arlanda to the United States and Thailand.

Ole Orvér, Chief Commercial Officer of Finnair, says, “We are pleased to see that traffic is returning at a quick pace, and our winter network responds to the demands of both business and leisure passengers.”

Finavia’s US service includes daily flights from Helsinki to New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport, three weekly flights to Los Angeles and Miami, and four weekly flights to Dallas Fort Worth and Chicago O’Hare International Airports. Finnish airline Finnair operates three weekly direct flights from Stockholm Arlanda to New York JFK, Los Angeles, and Miami. Finnair’s new Premium Economy travel class, as well as the airline’s completely renovated long-haul cabins, are now accessible on all flights to and from New York, departing from both Helsinki and Arlanda airports.

With daily flights linking to Finnair’s broad European network, Finnair continues to service Asian cities such as Delhi, Singapore, Seoul, and Tokyo Narita, among others. Finnair also flies to its new destination Mumbai four days a week, to Hong Kong seven times a week, and to Shanghai once a week, among other destinations.

Holidaymakers heading to Thailand may take advantage of up to 14 weekly departures from Bangkok, three weekly departures from Phuket, and two weekly departures from Krabi. Finnair also travels to Bangkok and Phuket from Stockholm Arlanda, with two weekly flights to each of the destinations.

Finnair has maintained its suspension of winter season flights to Tokyo Haneda, Nagoya, Osaka, and Sapporo as a result of the shutdown of Russian airspace since December.

In Europe, Finnair operates over 60 routes, including twice daily flights to and from the majority of European cities, catering to the requirements of both leisure and business passengers. The Finnair network connects passengers from Europe to destinations in Asia and the United States, as well as to the popular winter resorts of Ivalo, Kittilä, and Rovaniemi in Finland’s Lapland.

Authentic winter activities, such as skiing and husky rides, are available in Lapland, and visitors hoping to see the wonder of the Northern Lights will have lots of opportunity to do just that.
