Denmark Lifted Country's Remaining Covid-19 Travel Restrictions - Travelrnews

All remaining Covid-19 restrictions on travel on incoming travelers have been lifted in Denmark, making it the latest European country to do so. Minster for health Magnus Heunicke said that the present restrictions will be phased out at the stroke of midnight on Tuesday, March 29th.

Up to 24 hours before their scheduled arrival, certain passengers were required to have a negative Covid-19 test performed on their luggage. This included people who were not completely vaccinated or who had not been immunized using a vaccine that was recognized by the government.

Heunicke went on to say that the virus, particularly new forms, was still being constantly watched both in Denmark and overseas. He emphasized that, in the event that a new variation emerged, the Danish government would be able to apply a “emergency brake” and reimpose temporary travel restrictions as a last resort.

As stated by a representative for Visit Denmark, “a test will no longer be required if you have not been vaccinated, if your vaccination is not recognized in the EU, or if you come from outside of the EU and have been previously infected with the virus.”
