A Danish Pair(Boy & Girl) has arrived in Istanbul, Turkey, after pedaling more than 9,000 kilometers on bicycles over the course of seven months. Earlier this year, Jonas Schneeberg, a thrillseeker who works as a nurse in Denmark, and his fitness adviser girlfriend, Fie Frederiksen, embarked on an exciting voyage across Europe on two wheels, which began last year.
While traveling, the two stopped in a number of countries, including Germany and the Netherlands, as well as France, Portugal, Italy, and Greece. They eventually arrived in Turkey, where they plan to roam about the city for a week and take in the sights.
“For us, Istanbul was the most intriguing city we visited. A city at the crossroads of east and west, Christianity and Islam. Everywhere you go, you can feel it,” Frederiksen said. According to Schneeberg, who said that they had driven around 9,000 kilometers before arriving in Istanbul and that they had finally arrived at the city that they found intriguing, the majority of the recognizable characteristics of urban life were highlighted.
“Istanbul is really congested. The sounds of music, cars, and people’s voices are mixed together. As a result, a completely new harmony arises,” Schneeberg said. The pair, who are presently residing in the Karaköy neighborhood on the city’s European side, will return to their home country by bicycle, passing via Bulgaria and the Balkan nations.
