Barranquilla Marriott Hotel, a tribute to the vibrant city of Barranquilla, known as the “Golden Gate of Colombia,” and surrounded by lush tropical landscapes and the colors of the Colombian Caribbean, has finally opened its doors. This opening was announced by Marriott Hotels, the signature flag of Marriott Bonvoy’s 30 extraordinary hotel brands. The new hotel is set to become an ideal destination for global travelers who value the combination of business and leisure travel while learning about and experiencing new cultures. It will feature a contemporary and thoughtful design, multiple food and beverage outlets, a serene outdoor pool, and ample meeting space.

Barranquilla is a bustling seaport and the capital of Cumbia music. “We are excited to expand the company’s presence in the country with the opening of the Barranquilla Marriott Hotel,” said Brian King, President, Caribbean and Latin America (CALA), Marriott International. “Colombia is a destination known for its lively and rich culture, with Barranquilla being a bustling seaport and the capital of Cumbia music.” “Marriott Hotels has always been a place where guests can seamlessly blend work and relaxation, and Barranquilla, with its thriving business community, charming heritage, and ever-changing food scene, all of which are perfectly located on the banks of the Magdalena River, is the ideal home for this new state-of-the-art hotel,” said the general manager of the hotel.

Guests are drawn in by contemporary and comfortable spaces that invite them to relax as soon as they arrive, beginning with the Guestroom lobby, which is a stylish hub of the hotel that allows guests to combine work and pleasure. This evolution of Marriott Hotels is an example of how the company has continued to adapt over the years. The 191 spacious guest rooms and nine suites have a contemporary and intelligent design with warm wood tones representing the area’s tropical dry forest flora, bright and joyful colors, natural light, and are woven with character that is distinctly Colombian.

Each room has work desks equipped with technology, open closets to minimize concerns about forgetting items of clothing, baths designed to promote relaxation, and LED televisions. Guests will also have access to specially selected in-room TED material to enjoy throughout their stay thanks to a longtime connection between Marriott Hotels and TED. This partnership is the first of its kind and has been going on for quite some time.
