Abu Dhabi Has Begun Restoring Its Tourism Attractions

Because of good evidence indicating that the emirate has reached the “recovery phase” of the epidemic, Abu Dhabi has amended its Covid-19 travel limitations and guidelines, effective immediately. According to the most recent rules issued by the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi), the green list system has been phased out for all visitors arriving in the emirate by airplane.

Inbound travelers who are fully vaccinated will no longer be required to undergo a PCR test prior to boarding their aircraft. They are, however, still need to provide a valid Covid-19 immunization certificate with a readable QR code when they arrive at the destination.

Those who do not have a negative PCR test result obtained within 48 hours of their planned departure or a Covid-19 recovery certificate issued within 30 days of their scheduled departure, both of which have a readable QR code, will still be required to show up at the airport. Travelers under the age of 12 are excused from paying.

The on-arrival PCR test at Abu Dhabi International Airport is no longer required for all passengers, regardless of whether or not they have been vaccinated. The testing facility, on the other hand, will remain at the airport for individuals who choose to undergo a test for a fee of AED40 per swab.

Although it is not required to take the PCR test at the airport in order to enter Abu Dhabi, travelers are advised to do so in order to activate their green pass on the Al Hosn app. It is still necessary to download the app in order to obtain admission to numerous indoor tourist destinations such as malls, hotels, theme parks, and restaurants, among others.

Tourists who have been vaccinated may also acquire entrance to public locations by providing their Covid-19 vaccination certificate or by displaying their entire vaccination status on their home mobile app, as an alternative.
