195 Percent Increase In UAE Travel Reservations For Eid Al Fitr

Sixty-five percent of UAE citizens who booked tickets with dnata are ready to board planes for Eid vacations. Bookings for domestic and international vacation for the Eid al-Fitr holiday have increased by a whopping 195 percent so far in 2022 when compared to the same period last year.

The number of international travel reservations from the UAE has increased, with 65 percent of UAE travellers choosing international locations and 35 percent choosing staycations as their vacation destination. As a comparison, 68 percent of travelers who booked staycations over the same holiday period in 2020 did so in 2021 as well.

The Maldives, the United Arab Emirates, Turkey, Mauritius, and Oman are the top five most popular travel destinations with dnata Travel. In 2021, staycations in the UAE and the Indian Ocean were the most popular destinations for travelers from the UAE wishing to take a well-deserved holiday around Eid al-Fitr, said Emily Jenkins, General Manager of dnata Travel Leisure. Because many nations are reopening their borders to tourists, or are reducing or deleting COVID-19-related travel requirements, the demand for travel is at an all-time high, making a passenger’s trip that much easier.

“In particular, newly-opened and easily accessible locations such as Bali and Singapore are beginning to gather popularity, while Thailand is rapidly ascending our list of the Top 10 most-booked destinations for Eid al-Fitr.”

Additionally, the team of travel experts at dnata Travel has observed an increase in the length of stay and the average booking value, as customers are looking to extend their trips and opting to book more comprehensive holiday packages that include hotels, flights, transfers, activities in-destination, insurance, and other services, among others.
